Tips: iMIS Helpsite

Answers to questions you may have about the Helpsite: docs.imis.com

To find Known Issues

  1. Log on to the Support site to view real-time listings of software issues for the release.
  2. Select Issues List from the side menu.
  3. Search Known Issues

By setting the Search Type to Known Issues and using these settings, you can view the complete list of issues for the release version you selected.

  4. Search Resolved Issues

The same process works for viewing Resolved Issues: by setting the Search Type to Resolved Issues and using these settings, you can view the complete report for the version you selected.

Hey… where's my Help file?

Client-based Help is no more! iMIS 15 uses new server-based Help, which means that iMIS makes Help calls to our webserver.

What was so bad about compiled Help?

Unlike the live Helpsite, compiled Help falls out of date quickly, and huge downloads are required to update it. Compiled Help bulks up the installation executable, as well as eating up space on client workstations. It can't be easily localized or edited to fit your organization.

What is "live" Help?

Can we edit our Help?

To customize or localize your Help

  1. Copy down the Helpsite ZIP file (such as 15-0-3_Helpsite.zip) you need and expand it on your server:

Tip: See the downloads page for the complete list of ZIP files.

  2. In your iMIS database, edit the SystemConfig table HelpURL parameter to point to your location.
  3. Edit your topics and graphics as needed.
  4. At the next major iMIS release, rinse and repeat.
